Job Title: Assistant Project Manager - Electrical Construction

Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager will support a large semiconductor project in Boise, Idaho, focusing on electrical construction. In this role, you provide coordination, documentation, and administrative support to project management and field teams throughout the project lifecycle. You assist with planning, execution, cost control, and communication to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination and execution activities for a large semiconductor project.
  • Manage project documentation, including preparing, tracking, and maintaining submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, logs, and other project records.
  • Assist with change order tracking, document control, and budget setup within project management systems.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to obtain required documentation for closeout packages and operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  • Help develop workflows and work breakdown structures in collaboration with field supervisors and project teams.
  • Support project schedule updates and tracking as directed by project leadership.
  • Assist with project billings to ensure accurate and timely monthly submissions.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality RFIs and support change management efforts throughout the project.
  • Assist with subcontractor and vendor payment tracking to support accurate cost control.
  • Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely labor reporting for project staff.
  • Assume temporary project supervision responsibilities when required to support field operations.
  • Perform additional project-related duties as assigned to support successful project delivery.

Essential Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience as a project engineer or in a similar role supporting electrical construction projects.
  • Basic ability to read and understand electrical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with construction project controls, documentation processes, and scheduling practices.
  • Ability to process RFIs and submittals accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to support multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Experience supporting electrical or technical construction projects.
  • Professional, client-facing communication and presentation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting semiconductor, data center, industrial, or other mission critical construction projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience with low voltage and other electrical construction scopes.
  • Background or familiarity with construction management and construction administration practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or 4+ years of experience in the electrical trades is preferred.
  • Experience working on data center construction or mission critical construction projects is beneficial.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional project teams and field supervisors.

Work Environment

This role supports a large, long-duration semiconductor construction project in Boise, Idaho, with work expected to continue through the end of 2027. You will work in a fast-paced construction environment, collaborating closely with project managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors on an active jobsite and in an office setting. The project involves electrical, low voltage, and technical construction scopes typical of semiconductor, data center, and mission critical facilities. You will use project management systems and standard construction documentation tools to manage RFIs, submittals, logs, and cost tracking. The team is part of a growing organization that is actively winning work across the West Coast, offering the opportunity to grow with a stable and expanding project portfolio. Work hours align with typical construction schedules and may require on-site presence to support project coordination and occasional temporary supervision responsibilities.

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
