Role Summary
Oakwell is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support active construction projects in healthcare and institutional campus facilities using our Transparent Project Delivery model in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is a construction project leadership role, working closely with the Senior Project Manager to manage cost, schedule, safety, and quality on complex projects. The Assistant Project Manager is involved in day‑to‑day project execution, not just documentation—supporting field operations while maintaining strong project controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with the Senior Project Manager to support overall construction execution
  • Actively use and experiment with AI and machine‑learning tools to work faster, identify risk earlier, and improve decision‑making across construction cost, schedule, safety, and QA/QC.
  • Assist with open‑book cost control, including:
    • Target Cost tracking
    • Forecast vs. actual analysis
    • Contingency and change tracking
  • Support construction scheduling, milestone tracking, and recovery planning
  • Coordinate Change Order Requests (CORs) related to construction scope
  • Assist with safety oversight:
    • Support contractor safety programs
    • Track incidents, corrective actions, and permit requirements
  • Support QA/QC control:
    • Monitor quality inspections and first‑time‑quality expectations
    • Track deficiencies, rework, and closeout items
  • Maintain PMIS including RFIs, submittals, procurement, risk logs, and decision logs
  • Support construction through Validation, Active Construction, Commissioning, and Turnover
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, punch list, and closeout documentation
Specific Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience on active construction projects
  • Comfortable working with field teams, superintendents, and trade partners
  • Comfortable working within project management software like Procore, Autodesk or others
  • Strong understanding of construction cost, schedule, safety, and quality
  • Healthcare or MEP‑heavy construction experience preferred
  • Motivated to grow into a Project Manager role
