The primary duty of the Assistant Program Director is to lead and manage daily operations within the Offsite Services department. This position ensures compliance with Program Policies, Procedures, and DHS regulations while supporting clients' offsite employment goals through skill assessment, job matching, and ongoing job site development. In addition, this position works closely with other departments to assist clients wanting to transition into offsite work options. This position requires independent travel within the Minneapolis and St. Paul metropolitan area.
Program Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations within Offsite Services.
Including but not limited to: scheduling staff and clients, training, completing Pavillio approvals, working with clients on their independent work goals, employee relations, problem solving, etc.
Ensure departmental compliance with Program Policies, Procedures, and DHS Regulations. Collaborate with Program Plan Coordinators and Job Coaches to match clients' skill sets and employment interests with community job placements. Coordinate with client teams to develop and implement individualized plans that support clients goals, preferences, and needs. Evaluate the skills of clients interested in transitioning to offsite community employment. Identify and explore new job site opportunities and connect with prospective employers. Foster relationships with employers to ensure satisfaction with client and staff performance. Stay informed about key employment opportunities and communities relevant to job searches. Record and approve client attendance in the Pavillio database. Guarantee that client services meet all applicable licensing and regulatory standards. Oversee the completion of incident and emergency reports, manage corrective actions, and conduct internal maltreatment reviews when necessary.
Management Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, direction, and support to employees consistent with the company's management core competencies. Train, evaluate, and discipline employees according to company policies and procedures. Coordinate with other divisions of the company to ensure mutual goals and initiatives are accomplished. Manage departmental budget and record expenditures to the accounting department. Be available for staff communication, in person, via email, radio, and over the phone.
Qualifications:
Must meet the qualifications for a Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) or Designated Coordinator as outlined in federal and/or state regulations, which include:
A bachelor's degree in a human services-related field, along with one year of full-time experience providing direct care to individuals with disabilities or those aged 65 or older; An associate degree in a human services-related field, plus two years of full-time experience providing direct care to individuals with disabilities or those aged 65 or older; A diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a human services-related field, and three years of full-time experience providing direct care to individuals with disabilities or those aged 65 or older; Four years of full-time experience providing direct care to individuals with disabilities or those aged 65 or older, supervised by a qualified professional meeting the above criteria.
Experience supervising employees is preferred. Ability to use electronic devices, including databases and internet-based applications. Demonstrate ability to productively collaborate with clients, co-workers, and others associated with the company. Excellent writing skills. Commitment to supporting clients in their work placement and encouraging independent placement in the community. Have a valid class 'D' driver's license. Personal vehicle insurance that meets the company's requirements. Ability to drive all company vehicles and follow the safe transportation policy. Essential Physical Functions: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of this position. The employee must be able to continually sit, stand, walk, and communicate throughout each day. Be able to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, run, reach, push, and pull, regularly move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. This may include moving clients who are unable to support their own weight or pushing and pulling wheelchairs used by clients weighing 100-200 pounds.
