Purpose of Position
The mission of UND''s College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship, and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations.
The CNPD is comprised of three departments: Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Social Work.
The department of Social Work is seeking a full-time (9-month) tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank. This individual will contribute to a productive and collegial academic team and will develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with students. The faculty member will have a principal assignment to the MSW program and will teach in the generalist curriculum and advanced generalist specialization. Teaching assignments may also include other areas of the MSW program and/or the BSSW program depending on enrollment and the needs of the department.
The department is seeking an individual with teaching and/or practice experience in social policy and/or macro practice (practice with communities and organizations). Scholarship/research related activities will be determined by the individual''s research agenda, which will be developed in consultation with the department chair and associate dean.
This position is for a full-time (9 month) contract and requires an in-person, on-campus presence. A separate summer (3 month) contract may also be available depending on the needs of the department.

Duties & Responsibilities
Teaching Teaching will be dependent on departmental needs. A sample of classes would include (but not be limited to):
Social Policy
Advanced Generalist Practice with Communities
Advanced Generalist Practice with Organizations
Advanced Generalist Tools for Policy
Generalist Practice with Treatment & Task Groups
Generalist Practice with Organizations & Communities
Teaching activities will also include advising as well as field assignments with both supervision and liaison duties.
Research
Research and Scholarly/creative activities will be determined by the individual''s research interests/agenda, which will be developed in consultation with the department chair and associate dean during the first year of employment.
Service
Service activities will be determined in consultation with the department chair and will be consistent with department, college and university expectations and policies/procedures.
