Assistant Professor of Surgery - Cardiac Surgery

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey

Our organization is in search of an Assistant Professor of Surgery to enhance its esteemed Division of Cardiac Surgery. This role presents a remarkable chance to be part of one of the leading academic cardiac surgery programs in the country, operating at a top-tier academic medical center and the primary teaching facility for our medical school. The program has achieved the distinguished 3-Star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for both Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) and Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR), signifying outstanding patient outcomes and high-quality care. The medical center caters to a diverse population exceeding 5 million residents and hosts several nationally recognized Centers of Excellence, including specialties in cardiovascular care, oncology, neurosciences, orthopedics, women’s health, pediatric care, and the Rutgers Cancer Institute, along with New Jersey’s only nationally ranked children’s hospital affiliated with our institution.

Become part of a skilled team of six cardiac surgeons who perform around 2,000 cardiac surgical procedures each year. You will collaborate with nationally recognized experts in clinical care, education, and research. Position Highlights

Candidate Requirements
  • MD, DO, or an equivalent medical degree.

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery.

  • Completion of an accredited Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship or equivalent training.

  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New Jersey.

  • Eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professor of Surgery at our medical school.

  • A strong commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and academic medicine.

Compensation

The expected salary for this position starts at a minimum of $453,605 annually. The final compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
