Assistant Professor of Practice
The University of Texas at San Antonio, Alvarez College of Business, Department of Accounting, invites applications for a Fixed-Term-Track (FTT) position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice, beginning Fall 2026.

Department of Accounting
The Department of Accounting in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio comprises 23 tenure/tenure-track and fixed-term-track faculty members and offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in accounting. Our faculty and students have been recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally for excellence in both research and teaching.

Position Summary
The Alvarez College of Business, Department of Accounting, is seeking a Fixed-Term-Track (FTT) position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice beginning Fall 2026. This position supports the department's Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and our Master's of Accountancy program.

The standard teaching load for a full-time fixed-term-track faculty member is 4/4. In addition, the position requires service to the department and continued involvement in the accounting industry (for example, through membership in state or national accounting societies). Due to accreditation requirements, please note that a terminal degree is highly preferred for graduate course instruction.
Essential Functions
Faculty members are expected to ensure that critical learning objectives identified by the department chair and course coordinator are met through classroom instruction and instructional materials. Instructors may personalize their course's curriculum to capitalize on their subject matter expertise. Critical thinking and experiential learning should feature prominently in each course. This position requires the candidate to teach locally at the University of Texas at San Antonios main campus in San Antonio. Candidates who are not local will not be considered for this position.
You may be required to teach during the day, in the evening, or on weekends, as scheduled by the department.
