Position Description
Culver-Stockton invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Physical Education. This is a full-time tenure-track position beginning in the fall of 2026 and is a face-to-face position. The College seeks a scholar committed to the continued development and implementation of experiential learning and physical education theory, practice, and scholarship.
Responsibilities
• Design and deliver engaging courses in physical education and incorporate experiential learning opportunities into coursework. • Advise and monitor students on academic and career development. • Supervision of student teachers. • Engage in scholarly activities or professional practice in the field. • Contribute to the ongoing growth of the department through curriculum development and assessment activities. • Participate in departmental, college-wide, and community service activities. • Assist with recruitment efforts for students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
Qualifications
Minimum of a masters degree in physical education or a closely related field is required for renewable lecturer position. Ed.S., Ph.D., Ed.D., and D.Ed. are preferred and required for a tenure-track position. ABD candidates will be considered. Previous experience with public school teaching and certification is desirable.
