Summary Description: The position is a full-time tenure-track position to begin August 2026. The candidate will be expected to teach 12 hours per semester on campus organic chemistry along with lab biochemistry along with lab and general chemistry or non-majors courses as needed. In addition, the optimal candidate will develop an ongoing undergraduate research program in biochemistry or bio-organic chemistry that is compatible with our existing biochemical and analytical research programs. The candidate will also advise and mentor students and serve on university committees.
The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate for this tenure-track position will have a passion for teaching, a strong commitment to scholarly activities including guiding research, and a desire to contribute to the academic and professional development of the students.

Responsibilities:
To plan and deliver lectures, develop course assignments, and grade student work. To advise and mentor students on academic paths and career matters. To update and revise current course materials, in addition to developing new courses or programs as needed. To support the University through committee service and attendance at required events. To conduct the appropriate level of research and/or attend conferences to stay current in the field of expertise.

Education: Ph.D. in chemistry, additional post-doctoral or industrial experience is desired. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in biochemical or bio-organic chemistry. Applicants with research interests bridging inorganic, organic, and/or biochemistry are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience or interest in innovative pedagogy will be viewed positively.
Experience: Preferably at least 1 year of teaching experience in higher education.
