The School of Business at the University of Indianapolis seeks a tenure-track faculty member to support student engagement, curricular integration, and applied business education. This position emphasizes business foundations, innovation, and the effective use of digital and AI tools across the student lifecycle.The successful candidate will play a visible role in connecting students to UIndy, teaching business core applied courses, and contributing to experiential and design-based learning initiatives. The role prioritizes student-centered pedagogy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world application over narrow disciplinary specialization. REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:RequiredDoctoral degree in a business, technology, analytics, or innovation-related field. Exceptional candidates with substantial professional experience in business innovation, digital transformation, or applied analytics may be considered for the Assistant Professor of Practice track.Demonstrated excellence in teaching and student engagement at any level, including K-12 or corporateStrong communication and collaboration skillsExperience integrating and/or applying digital or AI tools into business education or organizational practice PreferredPhD or DBA is preferredExperience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, but experience in K-12 is welcomeProfessional or industry experience in business, management, or related fieldsExperience with experiential, project-based, or design-focused teaching ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Teaching ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will teach or co-teach undergraduate and graduate courses aligned with School of Business needs and expertise, which may include:Introduction to Business & Society (first-year experience)Digital Foundations and AI Fluency for business studentsIGNITE courses which is a scaffolded project-based learning sequence that will be required for all business students starting in Fall 2026 that develops business fundamentals, digital and AI fluency, ethical judgment, and professional identity through human-centered design experiences across the curriculum. Senior Capstone and/or applied graduate courses, as appropriateInstruction may be delivered in face-to-face, hybrid, or online modalities. Student Engagement and MentorshipA central component of this role is building meaningful connections with students across the curriculum. Responsibilities include:Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students at key academic and professional transition pointsSupporting student belonging, engagement, and professional identity developmentConnecting students to experiential learning opportunities, internships, and institutional resourcesServing as a visible, accessible, and supportive faculty presence within the School of Business Expertise and Pedagogical EmphasisThe successful candidate will demonstrate:A broad understanding of core business functions and management principlesAn appreciation for digital and AI tools and their role in contemporary business and higher education practiceAbility to integrate digital and AI tools into teaching in ethical, accessible, and practical waysSkill in translating emerging technologies for non-technical audiencesDeep technical expertise is not required, but emphasis is placed on fluency, judgment, application, and responsible use of digital and AI tools in business contexts.
