Salary/Position Classification
Purpose of Position
The College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is comprised of the departments of Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Social Work. For this position, the Nutrition & Dietetics department is seeking a tenure-track faculty member to teach, generate research and perform service.
The mission of the CNPD is to provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship, and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations.
The mission of the department of Nutrition & Dietetics is to provide exceptional, culturally aware, and collaborative education, experiences, and scholarship that advance well-being through nutrition for all.
The applicant will work to carry out UND''s tripartite mission with responsibilities in research, teaching and service. This position is expected to work collaboratively with department faculty to achieve the mission of the department through effective teaching and advising, impactful research, and valuable service endeavors.
Candidate will be required to meet the requirements of an assistant professor rank.
This position requires an on-campus, in person presence at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND.
Duties & Responsibilities
40% - Research
Maintain an active, productive research agenda
Secure external grant funding
20% - Service
Service may include serving on committees at the department, college or university level.
Service may also include participation in the Alice T Clark mentoring program for tenure-track faculty.
40% - Teaching
40% effort allocation to teach a variety of courses. Examples of courses might be:
Research Methods in Nutrition
Fundamentals of Nutrition
Nutrigenomics
Seminar
Scholarly Project/Independent Study
Advising students is also a part of this teaching allocation.
