The Department of Biology at Case Western Reserve University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to develop an independent research program within the Cell, Molecular, and Developmental group. We are particularly interested in an individual who has broad scientific interests or training and leverages both experimental and computational approaches in an integrative framework across biological scales to ask fundamental questions in eukaryotic microbiology, especially microbial/environment interactions.

The successful candidate is expected to develop an outstanding independent research program, and to develop and teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in cell, molecular, or developmental biology. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants should have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral research experience in biology or another relevant field.

The CWRU Department of Biology has strong research programs across the breadth of biology, including cell, molecular and developmental biology, genetics, ecology and evolution, and neuroethology. We have close ties to interdisciplinary collaborators within the university including the CWRU School of Medicine, CWRU College of Engineering, and the College of Arts and Sciences.
