The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry seeks an Assistant Professor to:
(a) teach chemistry courses in general, analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis content areas (b) advise and mentor undergraduate students (c) provide service to the department and the university through committee work.
Essential Functions:
Integrate the Mercy core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
Teach 15 contact hours per semester in the chemistry area with special emphasis on analytical chemistry.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness
Teach in lecture, laboratory, online, or hybrid modalities.
Advice and mentor undergraduate students
Engage in Scholarly activities
Participate in departmental functions such as lectures, Open House, etc.
Engage in University-wide and departmental service.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ph. D. in analytical chemistry preferred.
Some teaching experience is required.
Candidates with industrial experience are encouraged to apply.
