Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pediatric psychology. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Completed internship and fellowship in pediatric psychology or clinical care psychology is required. Applicants must have a PA license in psychology.



Teaching responsibilities may include supervising behavioral health trainees (including psychology externs and interns); giving lectures to trainees in psychology, psychiatry, and pediatrics; develop curricula.



Clinical responsibilities may include providing outpatient consultation and intervention to youth with a wide range of chronic medical conditions and medical traumatic stress within the Pediatric Health and Behavior Program. In addition to, providing outpatient consultation, assessment, and intervention services to youth diagnosed with pediatric chronic migraine and other headache disorders within the Pediatric Headache Program.



About the Pediatric Health and Behavior Program (PHAB): an outpatient consultation and psychotherapy program for youth with a wide range of chronic medical conditions and traumatic injuries and their caregivers. PHAB staff includes psychologists, psychiatrists, and administrative staff who work closely together in the treatment of patients. Commonly referred patient populations include autoimmune conditions, neuromuscular disorders, neuroinflammatory disorders, brain injury, atopic diseases, and chronic kidney diseases. The pediatric psychologist will be encouraged and supported to identify a disease area of special interest on which to focus. The pediatric psychologist will collaborate closely with referring medical providers, as well as social workers and other outpatient staff.



About the Pediatric Headache Program: provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of chronic migraine and other headache related diagnoses. Evaluation of chronic migraine and other headache disorders includes a highly interdisciplinary model involving strong collaboration, followed by on-going treatment in the outpatient setting. The psychologist in the Pediatric Headache Program will work closely with the team, including physicians in Neurology, nurse practitioners, nurses, social worker, consultation with psychiatry staff when appropriate, and other team members to provide care and further develop the services provided within the Program.
