Summary Coordinates activities of workers engaged in production activities by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists with line set-up.
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Provides safety training.
  • Provides automation training.
  • Focuses on new items and providing steak yields.
  • Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area.
  • Assists supervisors with paperwork.
  • Handles meat distribution.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
  • Ensures products are properly labeled by production workers.
  • Inspects and measures and products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Provides guidance to workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Assists with audit preparation and customer visit preparations.
  • Trains existing and new employees on company procedures.
  • Focuses on tasks at the end of the line.
  • Acts as back-up when supervisors are on vacation.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and works with supervisors to resolve work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Consistent and regular, in-person attendance is required to perform the essential duties of this Job
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Acts in lead role for assigned shift. Provides feedback to supervisors on performance of production workers.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software and Manufacturing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be reliable and safety conscious. Must have good attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Other Qualifications

Must be willing to work flexible hours including early mornings. Must be available for overtime.
