Position Summary:
The position of PVA Production Manager - Ensembles & Events provides critical support for major music ensembles, festivals, summer camps, and recruitment events. This position supports the PVA Events and Ensembles Office, coordinates PVA curricular, co-curricular, and recruitment events, and manages a pool of student workers within the College. The incumbent plays a critical role in ensuring the units within PVA meet yield, retention, and time-to-graduation targets by ensuring the integrity of events from recruitment to matriculation and ultimately graduation.
Job Duties:
Ensemble & Student Support
Event Support
UNC Greeley Jazz Festival: Assist with planning and execution, including coordinating adjudicators, creating training materials, and developing ensemble evaluation rubrics. Supervise Graduate Assistants and event volunteers.
UNC Jazz Camp: Coordinate all aspects of the camp, from scheduling and co-curricular activities to overseeing counselors and ensuring a positive participant experience. Liaise with housing, dining, and other campus partners. Communicate key information to registered participants and their families.
Western States Honor Orchestra and All-State Band: Partner with the Director of Programs (DOP) to implement and execute the project plan. Manage registration, auditions, and student volunteers while overseeing the participant experience. Communicate with selected participants, school directors, and parents. Design activities and schedule rehearsals to highlight UNC PVA.
Annual Audition Days & Recruitment Events: Provide on-site support to students and families during audition days and recruitment events like Exploring Arts Day and the High School Theatre Festival.
Travel and External Performances: Arrange and attend performance engagements, including CMEA, JEN, and other external events as needed.
Student Volunteer Management: Recruit and manage student volunteers to enhance the experience of curricular and co-curricular festivals. Develop programs and objectives, create training materials, schedule personnel, and assess effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years professional experience coordinating public-facing events.
Demonstrated ability to work well with faculty, staff, students, and parents.
Bachelor''s Degree in Music
Preferred Qaulifications:
Master's Degree in Music or related field
1 year of student-facing experience working in higher education.
Familiarity with the lived experience of students from various historically marginalized communities.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Familiarity with learning outcomes and ability to craft rubrics
Attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
Proficiency with collaboration tools (Airtable, Sales Force, Monday, etc)
The responsibility of this position requires a multifaceted individual with music experience and the ability to work with great accuracy under pressure. It requires a strong work ethic, ahigh degree of energy, effective problem solving, and self-direction.
