PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assist with school efforts to increase student achievement, increase organizational effectiveness and ensure student and stakeholder engagement and loyalty. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Meet state and local requirements concerning fingerprints and criminal background check

Hold or be eligible for Georgia Leadership Certificate and experience as classroom teacher. Good oral and written communication skills. Possess good computer skills. Ability to perform routine physical activities required to fulfill job responsibilities. Any alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Strategic Objective I - Attaining High Student Achievement & Success Assist with the oversight of the planning, implementation and evaluation of school curricular, assessment and instructional initiatives/programs. Assist with ensuring that personnel use approved curricular, assessment and instructional best practices. Assist with ensuring that school decisions and policies regarding student achievement are data driven. Assist with ensuring the improvement of student achievement for all students and sub-groups of students. Assist with the oversight of school testing and assessment programs. Assist with oversight of school programs for students with disabilities, gifted students, Early Intervention Program, Remedial Education Program, extension, and summer school. Assist with ensuring compliance with identified system instructional initiatives. Assist with development and implementation of school long and short term goals utilizing technology to improve student achievement. Assist with the oversight of school guidance, media, student mentoring and parenting programs. Assist with the oversight of the partnerships with community, higher education and government agencies supporting connections with the school.

Strategic Objective II - Developing Organizational Effectiveness Assist with the oversight of school maintenance and custodial program to ensure attractive and clean facilities for all stakeholders. Assist with the oversight of School Nutrition program. Assist with the oversight of student transportation issues at school site. Assist with the oversight of administrative technology at school site. Recommend long-term and short-range plans for facilities initiatives to principal. Supervise and evaluate school staff as assigned by principal following the guidelines set forth by Monroe County Schools. Assist with school teacher/staff induction and mentoring program. Assist with school teacher recruitment, recommendation and hiring process. Participate in professional activities to enhance knowledge and skills. Assist with the oversight of school professional learning program. Assist with ensuring that school instructional budget requests are aligned with instructional improvement plans. Assist with ensuring that all school funds and accounts follow proper system, state, federal and audit procedures and regulations. Communicate Monroe County School System vision/mission/beliefs to school personnel and stakeholders. Assist with school improvement planning, school balanced scorecard and visual reporting initiatives (ensuring alignment with system improvement initiatives). Complete assignments and reports on time and in compliance with directions. Assist with the enforcement of and compliance with school, administrative, board, state and federal rules, procedures, regulations, policies and laws.

Strategic Objective III - Ensuring Student/Stakeholder Engagement & Loyalty Oversight of school safety, emergency and crisis planning (school safety plan and procedures). Assist with the oversight of student discipline policies, procedures and issues. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Oversight of the student attendance initiatives. Involve the community in planning of school programs and initiatives. Participate in community activities and events. Assist with the oversight of school community/business partnership and volunteer programs. Assist with ensuring that school athletic, extra curricular and co-curricular programs are of high quality.

Other Job Responsibilities and Duties: Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Exhibit pleasant behavior and project a positive image when dealing with the public, employees, parents and students. Meet professional dress requirements as outlined in the system personnel handbook. Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Monroe County Board of Education policy regarding evaluation of personnel.
