Job Description:
Greenwich Public Schools seeks an Assistant Principal for New Lebanon Elementary School beginning July 1, 2026. Home to approximately 350 students enrolled in Grades PreK-5, New Lebanon is a neighborhood school fostering academic excellence, community partnership, and strong social and emotional growth. New Lebanons IB magnet theme exposes students to cross-curricular experiences while instilling a love of learning and preparing them to be successful in a rapidly changing and diverse global society.
The Assistant Principal assists the building principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students, staff, and parents. This includes such responsibilities as: leading, directing, and supervising a variety of personnel and programs; creating effective family, teacher, and child communications; supporting, encouraging, mentoring, and evaluating staff; fostering teamwork between teachers and among staff and families; and managing budget items. The Assistant Principal serves as a member of the administrative team to develop and implement the total school program. The Assistant Principal acts in the capacity of the principal during the principals absence from the school.
The Assistant Principal assists the Principal in providing leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of a school in order to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law.
