SUMMARY: To maintain safe swimming conditions in the pools, decks, slides and surrounding areas of the Olympic swimming complex; promote safety and engagement in accordance with the Lava Hot Springs Foundation policies and procedures; assist Aquatic Program Manager; perform related work.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety.
- Perform Lifeguard duties as needed
- Maintain constant surveillance, consistently applying safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pools and slide areas
- Respond to emergency situations in accordance with the Lava Hot Springs Foundation policies and procedures
- Complete reports as required
- Review and recommend updates to the facility emergency procedures to keep current with industry standards and regulations
- Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed
- Check the complex on a regular basis for hazardous conditions.
Supervision.
- Assist Pool Manager in supervision of staff including: scheduling, development, coaching, training; develop and lead in-service trainings
- Perform all supervisory functions of Aquatic Program Manager when in direct charge of facility.
- Facility Develop, update, and keep current documentation, forms, and promotional material as required
- Assist in proper maintenance of pools and slides
- Secure and schedule complex facilities
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of facility
Facility.

Program Operations.
- Develop and implement aquatic-based programs and/or operate aquatic programs for year-round use of pools to increase attendance and community engagement to including coaching, training and scheduling of programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Holds current CPR/First Aid/AED and Life-guarding certificate or has the ability to obtain within three months of hire.
- Ability to obtain Certified Lifeguard Instructor certification within six months of hire.
- Some knowledge of implementation training.
- Some knowledge supervising and evaluating personnel.
- Some knowledge with cash handling procedures.
