    Assistant Parts Manager

    Salary: $70,000 a year

    We're looking for an Assistant Parts Manager to help lead our Parts Department by ensuring inventory accuracy, supporting service operations, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role partners closely with the Corporate Parts Manager to oversee daily department operations, improve efficiency, and lead a high-performing team.     What You'll Do: 

    • Support the Corporate Parts Manager in overseeing daily Parts Department operations and achieving departmental goals
    • Manage parts ordering, receiving, distribution, and inventory processes to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment
    • Partner with Service leadership and technicians to ensure parts availability for scheduled repairs and minimize downtime
    • Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and oversee annual physical inventory counts
    • Analyze inventory performance, sales, expenses, and turnover to support profitability while minimizing obsolete inventory
    • Establish and maintain appropriate inventory levels based on business needs and customer demand
    • Ensure pricing strategies align with company guidelines while maintaining customer satisfaction and department profitability
    • Supervise daily department activities, including counter sales, customer inquiries, parts deliveries, quoting, and proposal generation
    • Provide outstanding service to internal and external customers by responding promptly to parts requests, questions, and order updates
    • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities to grow parts sales
    • Monitor back orders and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely fulfillment of customer needs
    • Process vendor returns, stock returns, warranty claims, and other required documentation accurately and on time
    • Train, coach, and support Parts Department employees while promoting accountability and continuous improvement
    • Communicate and enforce department processes, safety standards, and operational best practices
    • Assist in forecasting department goals and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and customer service
    • Resolve customer concerns professionally and in a timely manner
    • Perform other duties as assigned 

    What You Need: 

    • 3+ years of experience in a Parts Department, preferably within material handling, heavy equipment, automotive, or a related industry
    • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
    • Strong knowledge of parts operations, including purchasing, inventory management, quoting, invoicing, warranty processing, and vendor relations
    • Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and replacement parts
    • Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills
    • Ability to analyze inventory, sales, and operational reports to support business decisions
    • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems preferred
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
