The Department of Construction and Concrete Industry Management (CCIM) at South Dakota State University (SDState) invites applications for an Assistant Program Director at the Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice rank within the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program beginning August 2026. This position is ideal for a dedicated and experienced industry professional passionate about teaching and committed to shaping the future of the concrete industry. The successful candidate will bring expertise in concrete technology, construction management, and industry operations, with a strong understanding of managing people, systems, and product promotion within the concrete sector. This role is supervised by the CIM Program Director under the direction of the Department Head of Construction and Concrete Industry Management (CCIM) and provides the opportunity to make a lasting impact through high-quality instruction and industry engagement. This is a 9-month, full-time, benefits eligible position, with the possibility of additional summer assignment, located in Brookings, SD.
The CCIM department finds its home within the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering, one of the eight colleges at South Dakota State University. The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program is one of only five programs of its kind in the country, offering a unique opportunity to educate and mentor the next generation of concrete professionals. The overall vision of the College is to be a nationally recognized, regionally relevant, student-centered, and accessible land-grant college, and achieve the university's mission of providing a rigorous, practical education oriented toward problem-solving, conducting world-class regionally relevant research, and providing technical assistance to existing and emerging business, industry and government.
