Position Summary ----------------

Department Summary -----------------

Computer Engineering Technology graduates are involved in the development of hardware, software, and embedded applications that adapt digital logic and computer systems to solve problems in a wide range of industries from industrial manufacturing to consumer electronics. In addition, they may be involved in product testing and qualification or in application engineering, customer support, sales, and public relations.

Embedded Systems Engineering Technology --------------------------------------

Embedded systems are proliferating in our modern society. On a daily basis, the typical person in the United States will interact with dozens of embedded systems. The Embedded Systems Engineering Technology program targets the development of software to run these critical unseen systems quickly becoming interwoven into the fabric of our digital society. Engineers with this knowledge are in high demand, and the demand curve is growing exponentially. Students will gain critical knowledge in an area of software engineering which exists directly on the hardware, providing low-level operation and hardware abstraction to higher-level software constructs.

Software Engineering Technology ------------------------------

Oregon Techs Software Engineering Technology programs emphasize a combination of theory and application, not just theory. The applied hands-on curriculum prepares students for entry into the computer professions. Students will develop solid Software Engineering skills throughout all phases of the curriculum. From Software Testing and Design Patterns classes in the sophomore year to Project Management and Software Quality Assurance concepts in the junior and senior years, these concepts are a crucial part of a Software Engineers skillset.
