Delaware State University is seeking a faculty member for the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program (K12). The successful applicant will demonstrate expertise in teaching and advising at the graduate level. In addition, they will have a track record of producing culturally responsive leaders who are knowledgeable of and sensitive to the diverse needs of those they serve, who will seek to provide equity-minded and quality education for all children, and who are instructional leaders able to build an effective team-oriented approach to teaching and learning in order to maximize the academic achievement of all students.
Hybrid (online synchronous and asynchronous) instruction will be used via a cohort model in accordance with the accelerated weekend format. The candidate must have the ability to teach any of the following K-12 foundational areas:
- Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research
- Management of people, finance & resources
- Use of technology in research
- Equity and cultural responsiveness
- School and community relations
- Change leadership/strategic planning
- Instructional leadership
- Advanced school law, and ethics
Active engagement in research, grant writing, and involvement in state, regional, national, and international organizations is expected. Deep familiarity with and the ability to integrate Specialized Program Association (SPA) expectations into the curriculum are essential. The faculty member may teach MEd and EdD graduate students within their fields of expertise.
Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

### Essential Functions
- Teach educational leadership doctoral-level K-12 courses in the Education Graduate Programs (including summer months for stipend).
- Advise and mentor graduate students.
- Chair and serve on dissertation committees.
- Continue production of innovations and scholarly work, including publications and presentations, and actively pursue external funding through grant writing.
- Participate in University/College/Department/Graduate Office/State/Professional committees and community at large activities.
- Willingness to assume a leadership role and accept a fair share of committee assignments and serve conscientiously as a member of committees appointed or elected to and fulfill the specific duties of any chair or office accepted.
- Maintain office hours to be available to students on a regular basis (including evening options) for advising and counseling on matters regarding their academic performance and progress in class.
- Participate in curriculum and assessment development and analyze data routinely to study student growth and impact. This includes but is not limited to the reporting required through CAEP accreditation reviews, SPA reviews, and departmental data days.
- Participate in syllabi development. Enrich and revise courses periodically to keep them current.
### Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Applicants must have experience teaching doctoral or advanced graduate students (experience supervising the research dissertation is strongly preferred).
- Ability to contribute to the development and delivery of online courses.

Qualification Standards
---------------------
- Ed.D. or Ph.D. in education leadership or related field.
- Must be knowledgeable about education leadership standards and the accreditation or approval process.
- Must have a record of outstanding teaching and scholarship.
- Must be able to teach standards-based K-12 foundational education leadership courses.
- A proven record of procuring funding for research and initiatives is preferred.
- Experience in using Blackboard, Canvas, or another learning management system, as well as the ability to develop and instruct on an online teaching platform.
- Teaching experience at the graduate level with a knowledge base of current best practices in educational leadership.
- Experience as both a certified, licensed teacher (minimum 5 years), building administrator in a K12 setting (minimum 3 years), and central office administrator experience (preferred).
