Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) - Surgical I / Stepdown
Schedule: Full-Time | Days | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Join our Surgical I/Stepdown team as an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) and play a key role in supporting a high-acuity post-operative and stepdown patient population. This leadership position provides both clinical and operational oversight while partnering with the Nurse Manager to ensure exceptional patient care, staff engagement, and unit performance.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Surgical I/Stepdown unit
Provide clinical and administrative leadership to nursing staff
Support staffing coordination, patient throughput, and resource management
Foster a culture of patient safety, quality outcomes, and exceptional patient experiences
Mentor, coach, and support team members in their professional development
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership to optimize patient care
Assist with performance management, employee engagement, and conflict resolution
Serve as a clinical resource and leader for complex patient care situations
Support departmental goals, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based practice initiatives

Our Surgical I/Stepdown unit specializes in caring for post-operative patients with higher acuity needs, including trauma, emergency general surgery, complex wound care, and patients requiring stepdown-level monitoring. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse leader who enjoys a fast-paced environment, collaboration, and developing high-performing teams.
Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience, preferred. Prior demonstrated nursing leadership, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. Unit/Dept Specific Required Certifications.
Additional Skills (required): Successful completion of generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully complete Leader Education & Training.
