    Position Overview

    The Assistant Manager responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory database and linking their store to the company's product supply chain by processing and verifying all incoming and outgoing parts, accessories, and bicycles. Operations staff also collect physical inventory data, execute directives from purchasing and other departments, and work with the General Manager provide their store day-to-day operational support, maintaining a retail environment that enables the success of the sales and tech department.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Inter-Store Transfers- Outbound
    • Fulfill telephone and online requests for product from store personnel.
    • Remove from stock and process products for transfer following proper procedures
    • Assist drivers and ensure all products are loaded onto the transfer truck

    Visual

    • Implement visual directives as they are assigned by Merchandising Manager

    Inter-Store Transfers- Inbound

    • Verify, organize and stock product received following proper procedures
    • Ensure product arrives in good condition
    • Confirm that customers are contacted and notify store personnel of arrival of requested product
    • Direct tech staff to check-in bikes in order of urgency (Paid, Customer request, etc)

    Receiving

    Orders Received Centrally - process incoming orders received by the distribution center.

    • Verify, organize and stock product received following proper procedures
    • Ensure product arrives in good condition

    Orders Drop-Shipped by Vendors- Process incoming orders direct from vendors.

    • Match shipped product to vendor pick-list/pack-slip
    • Make sure all product arrives in good condition
    • Create vouchers using Purchase Orders
    • Report any shipping/receiving discrepancies to purchasing department
    • Submit paperwork to accounting
    • Process product (Price and security tag as necessary) and merchandise on the sales floor

    Stocking & Merchandising

    Keep sales floor stocked with available product

    • Keep product displayed as directed by the Merchandising Department
    • Maintain back-stock organization
    • Request more centrally warehoused product as needed

    Warranty Returns

    • Ensure warranty documentation is complete and properly filled out
    • Transfer warranty returns to the distribution center following proper procedures

    Physical Inventory

    • Conduct regular physical inventory counts as assigned following proper procedures
    • Report inventory discrepancies to the supervising manager
    • Research inventory discrepancies as instructed

    General Store Operations- Help provide the store with a smooth and successful operation, including assisting customers when all sales staff is occupied.

    • Keep store stocked with supplies-forms, office supplies, etc

    Fulfillment BOPIS/online

    MOD

    • Effectively quarterback the sales floor to ensure all customers are served exceeding well.
    • Conduct morning huddles.
    • Execute our Rules of Customer Service to resolve all customer conflicts or complaints.
    • Complete any tasks given by your GM.

    Requirements

    Strong organizational, planning, analytical and communication skills.

    Time/deadline management skills, attention to detail, and consistency are a must.

    Knowledge of, or enthusiasm for, bicycles and the bicycle industry a huge plus.

    Proven ability to plan and accomplish goals with a demonstrated history of growing businesses

    Strong coaching, development and performance feedback skills

    Strong leadership presence, including the ability to engender confidence and enthusiasm during periods of change or slower business

    Ability to create a vision of the future that motivates employees to want to achieve it.

    Excellent problem solving abilities and on-the-fly thinking to match the fast moving shop environment.

    Above average people skills to finesse sticky customer situations and build lasting relationships.
