Overview:
The EHS Assistant Manager (AM) is responsible for supporting and promoting the site’s EHS program for Mobis Savannah, ensuring the company is in compliance with EHS laws and regulations. The AM will be responsible for Incident Management and Musculoskeletal Disorder Prevention, including Workers Compensation Case Management by participating in audits and incident investigations, and carrying out preventative corrective action measures.

- Ensures that management is aware of any issues and concerns by daily communicating with Sr. Manager.
- Develop, administer, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures, to manage EHS compliance and risks applicable to the facility.
- Promote implementation of safety culture activities, health, and wellness programs, for all MSV Team Members
- Assess workplace environments, equipment, and process practices to identify hazards and complete new equipment checklists in cooperation with SIP.
- Develop new safety plans and execute them according to legal and organizational guidelines.
- Recommend measures to help protect Team Members from potentially hazardous working conditions, methods, processes, or materials.
- Conduct incident investigations to identify root causes of accidents and determine corrective actions to reduce the likelihood of accidents in the future.
- Maintain and complete accurate OSHA recordkeeping (300/300A/301 logs) reports and analyze incidents to identify trends.
- Conduct Safety Management Systems (SMS) audits, and/or monthly EHS inspections and assist in corrective action measures.
- Train Team Members on proper use of powered industrial trucks, aerial lifts, tuggers, overhead cranes, and related industrial equipment
- Schedule and conduct safety committee meetings for all departments to review safety performance.
- Conduct EHS orientation for new Team Members
- Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus 3 or more years of experience in an EHS-related position in a manufacturing environment
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Workers’ Compensation a plus
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
- Knowledge of OHSAS 45001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems
- Knowledge of heavy industrial equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
- Ability to support on-call emergency situations any time of day or night.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field plus 1 or more years of experience in an EHS-related position in a manufacturing environment
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- Registered Environmental Manager (REM)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Working Conditions:This position is primarily office-based and may require occasional travel or extended hours based on business needs. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals to perform essential functions. (Example)
