Your Impact

 

The Assistant Manager is a key leadership role responsible for supporting the General Manager in all aspects of dispensary operations, while maintaining direct ownership of inventory management, product accuracy, and menu integrity.

This role serves as the second-in-command within the store and plays a critical role in ensuring smooth daily operations, strong team performance, and consistent execution of company standards. The Assistant Manager bridges front-of-house sales execution with back-of-house inventory control to drive revenue, maintain compliance, and deliver an elevated customer experience.

 

What You'll Do (Personnel Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities)

Inventory Management and Control

 

  • Oversee all inventory processes from receiving through sale, ensuring accuracy at every stage
  • Manage and execute daily blind inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Investigate inventory variances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate product master data, including pricing, descriptions, and compliance details
  • Conduct daily menu audits to ensure alignment between physical inventory and the point-of-sale system
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement to maintainoptimal inventory levels and assortment

 

Operations and Store Execution

 

  • Support the General Manager in overseeing daily dispensary operations, including cash handling, reporting, and compliance
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed consistently across all shifts
  • Drive execution of promotions, product launches, and bundled offerings
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready environment always
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when the General Manager is not present

 

Team Leadership and Development

 

  • Supervise and support budtenders, supervisors, and inventory personnel
  • Assist in recruiting, training, coaching, and performance management of staff
  • Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and strong customer service
  • Support scheduling efforts to ensure proper coverage and efficiency
  • Lead by example on the sales floor, balancing service excellence with sales performance

 

Sales Performance and KPI Execution

 

  • Support achievement of store targets related to revenue, transactions, average transaction value, and margin
  • Monitor daily and weekly performance and identify opportunities to improve results
  • Drive upselling, product attachments, and effective use of promotions
  • Partner with the General Manager to analyze performance data and implement action plans

 

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight

 

  • Ensure full compliance with all Connecticut cannabis regulations and internal company policies
  • Maintain accurate and complete records for inventory, sales, and regulatory reporting
  • Enforce proper identification checks, transaction accuracy, and secure product handling
  • Stay informed on regulatory updates and implement necessary operational changes

 

What You Bring (Qualifications)

 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a GED or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of retail leadership experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Windows-based PC programs
  • Cannabis retail experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems and retail point-of-sale platforms
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background check to obtain and maintain a Key Employee License issued by the CT DCP
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
