Job Description Summary The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and high service standards throughout guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This role assists in supervising staff, managing inventory, maintaining safety standards, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Job Description Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff. Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to brand standards. Assist in training housekeeping team members Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and linens; Collaborate with the front office and maintenance teams to ensure timely room readiness and address repair needs Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve complaints with professionalism and care Maintain accurate records of schedules, inspections, and supply usage Enforce safety and sanitation policies in compliance with local health regulations Support the Housekeeping Manager in administrative tasks and serve as acting manager in their absence Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 2 years of experience in housekeeping or hospitality operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Proficiency in housekeeping software and Microsoft Office Suite Bilingual abilities (e.g., English/Spanish) are a plus Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment Additional Job Information/Anticipated Pay Range Benefits Sonesta recognizes that benefits play a vital role in helping ensure the health and financial security of employees and their families.
