Position Information

Job Title Assistant - Girls Construction Camp Job Description

Seeking an instructor to help supervise and teach girls during a hands-on construction camp. This is a temporary 4-day summer camp position. Must have building knowledge and be comfortable working with youth in a safe, supportive learning environment.

Full Time or Part Time Part Time Essential Duties Summary

  • Supervise campers during daily activities and lunch
  • Teach basic framing (floors, walls, roofs)
  • Explain basic electrical concepts inside walls
  • Assist with doors, windows, and siding installation
  • Maintain tool and jobsite safety
  • Encourage teamwork and confidence

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Building Construction Technology by May 2025

Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. the employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing/stooping frequently.
  • Pushing/pulling frequently.
  • Stretching/reaching overhead.
  • Perform labs on and off campus
  • Exposure to bodily fluids and hazardous chemicals.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside and outside. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and work output of students. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, depending on the nature of the assigned course.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand, and occasionally sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to be able to hear conversations in quiet environments.

Mental/Motor Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely performs routine work. The employee frequently exercises flexibility (ability to shift from one task to another). Guidance and reinforcement are infrequently available. The employee frequently works within time constraints and maintains attentiveness intensity. The employee is frequently involved in social interactions that require excellent oral and written communication.

Salary Grade Salary $32.23 per hour for associate's degree credential
