Opportunity
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) provides strategic and operational leadership over the "Experiential Core" of Woodlake Market. This role is responsible for the performance of the high-complexity F&B departments that constitute 60% of the Market's business footprint. The AGM serves as the primary culinary-business partner to the General Manager, overseeing a specialized team to ensure brand consistency, financial health, and the delivery of unforgettable guest experiences. Through noteworthy hospitality and disciplined operational management, the AGM acts as number two to the General Manager, ensuring leadership continuity for Kohler Hospitality's flagship retail food destination.
Specific Responsibilities
Maintain disciplined oversight of daily operations within the Café, Pizza, Deli, and Specialty Meat/Cheese departments to ensure premium execution.
Drive financial accountability by managing labor planning, COGS, and waste control; analyze menu mix and yields to maximize margins in high-volume F&B sectors.
Ensure all public and service areas reflect Kohler's noteworthy standards of presentation, cleanliness, and safety.
Directly manage the recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for the F&B leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional excellence.
Partner with the Junior Sous Chef to lead the innovative development of seasonal features, "scratch-made" prepared foods, and experiential guest offerings.
Oversee the expansion and sustained growth of the Building 83 Café, ensuring that the operational flow adapts to doubling sales volumes and shifting campus demand.
Lead the execution of F&B activations, including tastings, demonstrations, and holiday programs, to deliver a genuine and interactive "food-forward" experience.
Support menu engineering and recipe costing to ensure culinary creativity is balanced with financial sustainability.
Champion a guest-first culture where associates are empowered to provide immediate service recovery and noteworthy hospitality.
Model genuine interactions with guests and team members, serving as a cultural ambassador for the Kohler Hospitality DESIGN model.
Coordinate with the GM and campus partners to revitalize and scale catering services, ensuring off-site experiences meet the high standards of Destination Kohler.
Provide consistent coaching and mentorship to department supervisors, creating clear development pathways and strengthening the leadership bench.
