Pay Range: Targeted salary: $22.00 hourly, based on experience

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 11:30AM-8:00PM; Will include working home football game days, position is essential/may be required to work during campus closures

Position Introduction:

OU Food Services-Panera is seeking a motivated and experienced Restaurant Assistant General Manager (PM) to support evening operations at our location within the Oklahoma Memorial Union. This role assists in the overall operation, administration, and performance of daily restaurant activities, ensuring efficient service, strong financial performance, and an exceptional guest experience. Working closely with the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing staff, maintaining compliance with franchise and health standards, and supporting a high-performing team environment during PM operations.

Responsible for adherence to franchise requirements.

  • Meets restaurant financial management objectives, including cash reporting and Payroll with approval authority.
  • Enforces sanitation and complies with health and legal regulations. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy facility environment.
  • Schedules employees and forecasts staffing needs.
  • Purchases food and supplies, supervises production, and develops menus.
  • Must be able to work with, schedule and supervise both full time and student employees, including hiring, firing, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Provides information, clarifies policies and procedures, facilitates provisions of service, and resolves problems.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor''s degree.
  • 4 years of food service and restaurant supervision experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • A food handler card within 30 days of hiring.
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within first 12 months of employment.
