# Assistant General Manager - Ruby Tuesday Job Description
The
Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Ruby Tuesday is responsible for the
day-to-day management of the restaurant, acting as the second-in-command to the General Manager and often the primary point of contact for both staff and guests.
## Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Training: Supervise, train, and develop hourly employees; conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and discipline; set schedules, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Operational Oversight: Monitor kitchen and service operations, address issues promptly, and ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and food quality standards.
- Sales and Profitability: Drive sales and guest satisfaction; manage food costs, inventory, utility usage, and Health Department ratings.
- Service Standards: Enforce the
CHARM Service Model so every guest interaction meets company expectations.
- Training and Compliance: Provide and direct Front of House and Back of House training; maintain valid food safety and local compliance certifications.
- Inventory and Supplies: Conduct weekly inventory checks; manage food, supplies, and liquor costs; ensure equipment is in good repair.
- Communication: Use the digital manager logbook to share shift notes, product needs, equipment repairs, and staffing updates with management.
- Security and Safety: Implement and enforce security measures to protect employees and guests
## Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: Previous restaurant management experience (often 2+ years) preferred; kitchen experience is a plus.
- Certifications: ServSafe certification preferred or required before training.
- Skills: Strong time management, customer service, record-keeping, purchasing, and production skills; verbal and written communication; attention to detail; adaptability; multi-tasking ability.
- Other: Valid drivers license; ability to work independently and make quick, effective decisions
