POSITION OVERVIEW:
Pins Mechanical Co. is a social gathering destination where old-school entertainment meets great food and drinks. From duckpin bowling to pinball and shuffleboard, we bring people together for fun, memorable experiences.
We’re seeking a hands-on, operationally strong Assistant General Manager to serve as the GM’s right hand and oversee all aspects of daily operations. You will manage the Hospitality Managers, ensure operational excellence, and own team development from hiring through performance management.
As AGM, you’ll be responsible for translating the GM’s goals into action, leading by example, and maintaining high standards across guest experience, team leadership, and operational performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership
Oversee daily, shift-based, and closing operations to ensure the venue runs smoothly.
Monitor cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency across all areas.
Step in to support team members during peak periods or operational challenges.
Staff Management & Development
Hire, interview, onboard, train, mentor, and schedule team members, including, but not limited to bartenders, barbacks, servers, and Hospitality Managers.
Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and implement development plans in partnership with the GM.
Hold team members accountable while fostering a positive, high-energy culture.
Communicate daily targets, goals, and expectations to all team members.
Hold Hospitality Managers accountable for proper onboarding and continuous training execution.
Inventory & Cost Control
Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls for liquor, beer, wine, and food to meet financial goals.
Ensure proper cash handling, POS procedures, and documentation.
Oversee product rotation, stock levels, and supply organization.
Guest Experience
Ensure a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere and consistently exceptional guest experiences.
Handle guest complaints, inquiries, and requests promptly and professionally.
Maintain expert knowledge of menu items, cocktails, merchandise, and entertainment offerings.
Compliance & Safety
Enforce health, safety, and security standards, including responsible alcohol service and hygienic food handling.
Ensure all staff comply with local regulations and company policies.
Administrative Duties
Perform daily, weekly, and periodic reporting, including P&L review, labor management, and payroll.
Support the GM in operational planning, goal tracking, and reporting.
Maintain accurate records for operational and HR purposes.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
3–5+ years of leadership experience in high-volume restaurants, bars, or hospitality venues.
Proven ability to hire, train, manage, and develop managers and large teams effectively.
Strong operational, organizational, and financial management skills.
Exceptional guest service skills with a track record of delivering consistent experiences.
Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities.
High-energy, proactive, and hands-on leader with a strong work ethic.
