Were looking for an Assistant Football Coach - Defensive Coordinator who can bring energy, strategy, and leadership to our football program while helping our student-athletes succeed both on the field and in the classroom. What Youll Do

As the Assistant Football Coach - Defensive Coordinator, youll partner with the Head Football Coach to lead and manage the football programs defensive operations. Youll develop defensive strategy and identity, recruit talented student-athletes, support academic success, and help create an exceptional experience for our players and fans.

Youll also:

  • Lead the development, management, and coordination of the football teams defensive program.
  • Establish and implement the teams defensive philosophy while aligning with overall program goals.
  • Collaborate with the Head Football Coach on program direction, strategy, and decision-making.
  • Recruit and retain talented student-athletes while supporting their athletic, academic, and personal development.
  • Assist with football program recruiting efforts and social media engagement.
  • Coordinate game operations and contribute to an outstanding home game fan experience.
  • Ensure compliance with Bismarck State College, State Board of Higher Education, North Dakota State, NAIA, and Title IX regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 5 years college coaching experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of HS or college defensive coordinating experience.
  • Special teams coaching experience.
  • Strength and Conditioning coaching experience.
  • Collegiate regional and national recruiting experience.
  • Effective public and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of football competition, rules, and strategies as they relate to the NAIA.
  • Recruiting skills and ability to assess athletic talent with knowledge of recruiting compliance and regulation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Collegiate or HS Athletic defensive coordinator coaching experience.
  • Collegiate special teams experience.
  • Collegiate Athletic Social Media experience.
  • NAIA Frontier Conference coaching experience.
