REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree and 5-10 years' experience. Additional years' experience may be used in lieu of a degree. rn
• Current Top Secret clearance is required. Additional access and clearances may be necessary as required by program needs. rn
• Demonstrated success as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) or equivalent positions for 2+ years. rn
• Thorough working knowledge of the NISPOM, other relevant DoD security guidance, DCSA guidance and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs). rn
• Strong working knowledge of SIMS, DISS, NISS, ACCS, SWFT and eMASS. rn
• Experience in the end-to-end tasks of clearance processing, to facilitate employee interaction, and engaging with new hires to ensure timely completion of required tasks. rn
• Experience in conducting security indoctrinations and orientations for newly hired staff. rn
• Experience conducting security incident inquiries and writing investigation reports for use internally within the company as well as for distribution to outside entities as necessary. rn
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, organize and prioritize under pressure. rn

KNOWLEDGE:

The AFSO must have general knowledge, through training or equivalent job experience, in the following:

• Methods of conducting audits, inspections, control, and monitoring techniques. rn
• Knowledge of DISS, NCAIS, NISS, NBIS, and NISPOM. rn
• Methods of facility security surveys and inspections. rn
• Must be knowledgeable with COMSEC procedures. rn
• Must be knowledgeable with NATO procedures. rn
• Experience Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) management and compliance. rn
• Must be knowledgeable in sponsorship for FCL. rn
• Must have knowledissdge in SAP and SCI programs. rn

General Summary:

The AFSO reports directly to the FSO and assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security procedures as required by Kratos SRE, the Department of War, the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), and the National Industrial Security Manual (NISPOM); and the FSO with the overall security program. The program includes following processes for submitting new employee security clearances, tracking the progress of security clearance investigations; and performing administrative functions related to the roll and responsibilities associated with the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), National Industrial Security Program (NISP) Central Access Information Security System (NCAISS), and Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing legacy systems.

This position provides security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel; processes incoming and outgoing visit requests and certifications; reviews required forms, processes, and screens security forms; and ensures document control security by safeguarding controlled unclassified information and classified material in accordance with the NISPOM and through coordination with government agencies and the FSO.

• Develop and Manage Security Programs: Create and implement comprehensive security strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices. rn
• Conduct Risk Assessments: Perform security risk assessments and vulnerability tests to identify potential threats and implement measures to address them. rn
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with Program Managers, IT, engineering, legal, and other departments to integrate security requirements into all business processes. rn
• Maintain Security Policies: Develop and update security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance and protection against threats. rn
• Oversee Training Programs: Manage security awareness training programs to educate employees about best practices and emerging threats. rn
• Monitor Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements across the organization. rn
• The AFSO must possess the confidence to speak for the program and the security team when needed, make critical security decisions, and implement security processes that will prevent unauthorized access to company and government facilities and information. rn
• Provide clear guidance to company employees and subcontractors and recommend modifications to operations, policies or procedures as appropriate. Work as a team player, demonstrate flexibility and excellent organizational skills to manage complex tasks. rn
• Develop and implement requirements of OPSEC and Technology Control Plans, to include development and administration of training to ensure protection of critical information and controlled technology entrusted to Kratos SRE. rn
• Investigate security violations and prepare reports, corrective action reports. rn
• Maintain a working relationship with each contract''s security office for processing and maintaining employee clearances. rn
