Join Utah Valley University as an Athletic Equipment Assistant and play a vital role in supporting the success of our Division I athletic programs. Under the direction of the Director of Athletic Equipment, this position contributes to the daily operations of issuing, repairing, laundering, and maintaining practice and game equipment for all intercollegiate teams. From ensuring equipment readiness to supporting game-day logistics for both home and away competitions, your work will help create a safe, efficient, and professional environment for student-athletes.

Summary of Responsibilities
 
• Maintains the functionality of uniforms, practice gear, and equipment for the various athletic programs. Assists in the maintenance of equipment inventories. Reconciles athletic and sports equipment stock. Cleans and repairs equipment and ensures that all uniforms and related apparel and equipment are maintained in serviceable condition as necessary. Assists with uniform and equipment setup, preparation, distribution and retrieval at practices and on game day. renewals and new court-side seat sales.
• Assists with the maintenance of sports facilities and coordination of day-today sports activities for the programs.
• Supervises work study and student workers.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
 
Graduation with a high school diploma or GED.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree from an accredited institution.
 
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
 
Knowledge
 
• Knowledge of record keeping and inventory management.
 
• Knowledge of NCAA, WAC, and UVU institutional policies and procedures.
 
• Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
 
Skills
 
• Strong customer service and communication skills written and verbal.
 
• Skills in the use of computers and computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and databases.
 
• Skills in being detail oriented, organization, scheduling, and records management.
 
• Skills in coordinating game preparation.
 
Abilities
 
• Ability to perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimum supervision.
 
• Ability to prioritize workload with frequent interruptions in an open office atmosphere.
 
• Ability to communicate and work with people of

Utah Valley University was established in 1941 as Central Utah Vocational School (CUVS) with the primary function of providing war production training. CUVS was part of the Provo School District located in south Provo. The institution received a state appropriation in March 1945 of $50,000 to operate for the 1945-1947 biennium. In 1947, the school received funding as a permanent state institution. A new site for the school was acquired on University Avenue in Provo in 1948; in the 1952, the state appropriated funding for the first construction on that site. As enrollments grew, the state acquired over 185 acres in southwest Orem and the first building was completed in 1977. Today, the University’s facilities consist of a combined total of 412 acres with 50 buildings with campuses in Orem, Provo, and Heber City and property in Vineyard and at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
