The Role for Someone Who Notices Everything (Yes, Everything)
Town and Country Resort is looking for an Assistant Director of People Services who lives in the details, thrives on structure, and isn’t afraid to double-check the double-check.
This is not a sit-back-and-observe HR role. This is for the person who asks, “Was it done right?”—and then actually goes and verifies it.
You’ll support a team of coordinators who handle the day-to-day work, while you ensure it’s accurate, compliant, and executed the way it should be. If you enjoy catching what others miss (and fixing it before it becomes a problem), you’ll fit right in.
Why You’ll Like It Here
At Town and Country Resort, People Services is where culture meets execution. This role gives you the chance to build structure, improve processes, and make sure things are done right—not just done.
You’ll be the person behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly… and the reason nothing falls apart. Salary: $100,000
Responsibilities:
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
Keeping Everything (and Everyone) on Track
Support and guide People Services Coordinators across onboarding, benefits, recruitment, and risk.
Review their work—not just for completion, but for accuracy and compliance.
Set expectations, follow up, and ensure nothing slips through the cracks (because it won’t on your watch).
Owning the First Impression
Oversee onboarding so every new hire is set up correctly from day one.
Make sure paperwork is complete, systems are accurate, and no one falls into the “we’ll fix it later” category.
Running the Show with Ignite
Lead and refine the Ignite Orientation Program so it’s consistent, engaging, and actually useful.
Audit sessions to ensure every new hire gets the same high-quality introduction to the resort.
Catching What the System Misses (UKG)
Audit UKG regularly—new hires, pay codes, status changes, benefits—you name it.
Spot errors, fix them, and put controls in place so they don’t happen again.
Because “close enough” is not a standard.
Making Compliance Non-Negotiable
Audit HR processes across onboarding, benefits, and workers’ comp.
Ensure everything aligns with California labor laws and internal standards.
Keep documentation clean, consistent, and ready when it matters.
Supporting the Tough Stuff
Assist with investigations, grievances, and corrective actions by ensuring documentation is solid and defensible.
Help leaders and coordinators get it right the first time (or fix it quickly when they don’t).
Qualifications:
What You Bring to the Table
3–5+ years of HR experience (hospitality and/or union environment is a big plus)
Strong knowledge of California labor laws
Experience auditing processes and holding teams accountable
UKG experience preferred
A sharp eye for detail and a low tolerance for errors
The ability to coach others without doing the work for them
