Job Overview

Situated in Belleville, our medical center is part of a larger health system, offering a comprehensive range of healthcare services to the northern New Jersey community. With a team of over 700 physicians and 2,100 staff members, we provide advanced treatments for numerous medical conditions. Our facility features specialized centers for wound care, sleep disorders, bariatrics, orthopedics, cardiac services, cancer treatment, emergency care, and more. In 2017, we completed a significant campus expansion, introducing a modern four-story building that includes a private 32-bed Intensive Care Unit, a new main entrance and lobby, a retail pharmacy, a patient registration area, and an expanded emergency department.

Required Certifications and Licenses
  • Must hold a Registered Nurse license in New Jersey.
  • Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BCLS).
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; a Master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Completion of all orientation requirements.
Schedule
  • Full-time position.
  • Day shifts from 7 AM to 8 PM.
  • Availability required every other weekend and on holidays.
Essential Functions

The Assistant Director will support the Nursing Director in ensuring high-quality nursing care is provided to all patients within the designated units, adhering to the hospital's philosophy, policies, and program plans. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating and maintaining an environment that promotes compassionate care, healthcare excellence, and outstanding service.
  • Assisting in the development of patient care standards and ongoing education initiatives.
  • Participating in staff performance evaluations and managing scheduling to meet departmental needs.
  • Contributing to the direction and coordination of performance improvement, patient safety, and patient experience outcomes.
  • Ensuring the unit is always prepared for surveys and complies with all environmental and equipment standards.
  • Facilitating timely purchase orders and following up to ensure prompt delivery of materials and services.
  • Conducting daily rounds to ensure efficient patient flow and collaborating with ancillary and support services to enhance patient care quality.
