The Assistant Director of Parent Programs & Gift Planning is a collaborative advancement professional who supports the institution's philanthropic goals through strategic communication, donor engagement, event leadership, and operational excellence. Reporting to the AVP, and working closely with Program Directors, campus partners, and Advancement colleagues, this role develops and executes digital and written communications, cultivates and stewards parent and planned giving donors, and plays a key role in planning and executing events that grow and sustain the donor pipeline. The Assistant Director manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensures timely and high‑ quality execution aligned with strategic priorities, oversees data and operational needs for the unit, and supervises student workers, contributing to a team‑ oriented culture focused on meaningful engagement and long‑ term impact.

Primary position responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communication and Digital Engagement: Develop and implement strategic communication plan that supports advancement goals for the Unit, in collaboration with the Directors. Responsible for the implementation of digital engagement and communication strategies with administrative oversight for Campus ESP for Bruin Family Den (Parents) and Crescendo (Gift Planning); develop and maintain content calendars; generate content to highlight the work of campus partners; maintain Web pages; manage email inboxes for both programs; support communication needs through other channels in collaboration with Program Directors.
  • Development and Fundraising: Cultivate and steward parent and planned giving donors and prospective donors. Support donor engagement strategies through coordination of appeals, including the incoming family appeal (Belmont Family T-Shirts) and senior parent appeal (Brag on your Bruin); manage Give Campus digital giving pages for the unit in collaboration with the Annual Giving team; Giving Society (Parent Leadership Circle and Covenant Society) communication and events; and personalized stewardship.
  • Events: Play a key role in planning and executing events to expand engagement, grow the donor pipeline and steward donors. Coordinate logistics, including but not limited to invitation and registration management, for signature, local and national events, program-based virtual meetings and in-person board meetings in collaboration with campus partners and Advancement leaders. Key events include but not limited to Parent & Family Weekend, PLC Receptions, Virtual events, Summer Send-Off Parties in cities across the country, Covenant Society gatherings and Parent Executive Board meetings.
  • Project Management and Operational Support: Project manage multiple projects in collaboration with unit leaders, campus partners and colleagues across Advancement, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic priorities, using best practices from program and project management to ensure timeline progress on deliverables. Analyze project effectiveness and provide recommendations to enhance systems and processes. Serve as Office Manager and support AVP for Parent Philanthropy & Gift Planning, including budget, collateral and supplies needs using Asana and other systems. Manage data needs, contact lists, the unit calendar and digital files. Train and supervise student workers.
