DESCRIPTION

The Office for Social Justice and Advocacy is seeking an Assistant Director to help lead programs that support belonging, retention, engagement, and student success for historically underrepresented students. This is a full-time, exempt position working 40 hours per week, 12 months per year.

This role provides day-to-day leadership for OSJA initiatives, including Campus Compass, mentoring programs, first-generation student support, affinity-based programming, heritage month events, student leadership development, and community engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead daily operations for Campus Compass, including mentor/mentee scheduling, weekly participation tracking, communication, records, and follow up

  • Coordinate mentoring activities with students, alumni, community mentors, campus partners, and external stakeholders

  • Support OSJA programming, including affinity-based, cultural, educational, social, first-generation, and heritage month initiatives

  • Supervise and support student workers, peer mentors, interns, graduate assistants, program assistants, and student leaders

  • Manage event logistics, purchasing, receipts, budget tracking, supplies, food orders, calendars, and program documentation

  • Maintain OSJA communications, including My O-Zone, newsletters, flyers, social media, and student announcements

  • Provide student support, campus referrals, program data, surveys, reports, and assessment documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate is organized, student-centered, culturally responsive, collaborative, and able to manage programs, people, events, data, and details with care and consistency.
