POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for media and public relations for Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting with daily operations of the Sports Communication office, including streaming games, photography and videography of athletic teams, updating social media platforms and the athletics website, and assisting with game day operations.
EXERCISED:
May lead support staff.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of and ability to apply federal and state laws and regulations, NCAA and conference regulations as well as university and BOR/CSCU policies and procedures. Knowledge of and ability to apply best practices of sports communications. Demonstrated ability in writing, editing, and media relations. Proficiency in statistical software such as LiveStats and StatCrew/Genius. Demonstrated computer skills, social media expertise and website management experience. Experience with live video streaming, graphic design, and video editing preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
May be required to work evenings, weekends, and outdoors for games, events, and other athletic activities.
QUALIFTCATIONS:
Bachelor''s degree in communication, sports management, journalism, or other related area. Three (3) years of experience in media relations or sports communications preferably in a collegiate environment. Credentials and/or experience comparable to the above may also be considered.

COMPENSATION AND EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:
The Assistant Director of Sports Communications is compensated at the Administrator 3, salary level in accordance with or State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF).
