Summary:

The Assistant Director of Retail plans, administers and directs all activities related to food services retail operations. Drive customer satisfaction. Develop and manage an electronic menu system. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service experience for patients, residents, visitors and employees. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of effective merchandizing, quality assessment of market-place conditions, customer expectations and product selection to maximize customer satisfaction.

Principal Duties:

  • Responsible for multiple retail site locations.
  • Enforces quality control standards for patient food items including temperature, food handling, quality, taste and presentation.
  • Develops and schedules assignments.
  • Responsible for supervision of retail managers, catering managers and cash supervisor.
  • Full working knowledge of cash handling procedures.
  • Monitors employee performance.
  • Responsible for recruitment and hiring.
  • In consultation with the Assistant Director of Culinary, develops thematic menus for special customers and catering.
  • Responsible for regulatory adherence.

Minimum Education and Experience required:

  • BS in Food Services Management or related field
  • 5-8 years previous management experience in large-scale/high volume food service operation required
  • Multi-retail oversight experience preferred
  • Franchise experience preferred
  • Serv-Safe Certification preferred
  • Has a thorough knowledge of quantity of food production
  • Strong business acumen; strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service skills

Salary Range: Minimum 38.44/hour - Maximum 67.27/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
