Why This Role Matters
We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist to serve as Assistant Director of Rehabilitation (ADOR). This leadership role supports the Director of Rehabilitation in overseeing the rehabilitation program, mentoring a multidisciplinary therapy team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care. This position offers an excellent opportunity for clinicians seeking growth in senior leadership.
Reporting: This position works closely with the Director of Rehabilitation and collaborates with facility leadership, nursing, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
Role Overview
- Assist in leading and managing the daily operations of the rehabilitation department
- Support and supervise Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, assistants, and therapy aides
- Support regulatory compliance and ensure accurate, timely documentation
- Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care
- Assist in developing individualized care plans and supporting PDPM processes
- Monitor productivity, clinical outcomes, and departmental performance
- Participate in audits, care conferences, and leadership meetings
- Provide coverage for the Director of Rehabilitation as needed to ensure continuity of operations
What We’re Looking For
- Active California license in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapist in good standing
- Prior experience as an Assistant Director of Rehabilitation, Lead Therapist, or Rehabilitation Supervisor preferred
- Clinicians with 5+ years of experience as PT in a skilled nursing facility who are seeking leadership growth are encouraged to apply
- Bachelor's degree in Physical therapy or Occupational Therapy (or higher)
- Knowledge of PDPM, Medicare, and skilled nursing facility regulations
- Experience with EMR systems and regulatory compliance
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to foster teamwork, professional growth, and a positive work environment
- Passion for serving the geriatric population
