Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
Skilled Nursing Facility – Painted Post, NY Area

A respected skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in the Painted Post, NY area is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join its leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in overseeing daily nursing operations and maintaining quality resident care

  • Oversee daily staffing coordination

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of medical documentation

  • Conduct weekly wound and skin rounds

  • Participate in on-call rotation

  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of nursing staff

  • Ensure residents’ medical and nursing needs are met

  • Support infection prevention and control initiatives

  • Coordinate planning and delivery of nursing services

  • Maintain flexibility to meet operational and resident care needs

  • Support regulatory compliance and promote effective communication among nursing staff

  • Maintain knowledge of current nursing practices and standards

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State RN license required

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a long-term care setting

  • Flexible schedule availability required

  • Ability to supervise and support nursing teams effectively

  • Prior nursing leadership or management experience preferred

  • Staff education/training experience preferred
