Salary: Up to $130, 000 per year (depending on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) in overseeing clinical operations and maintaining the highest standards of resident care. This leadership role is ideal for a strong RN with long-term care experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to quality, compliance, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services with daily management and oversight of nursing operations

  • Help maintain and enhance the quality of care for all residents

  • Conduct weekly Wound/Skin Rounds and ensure proper documentation and follow-up

  • Support regulatory compliance and promote effective communication across all levels of nursing staff

  • Ensure residents’medical and nursing needs are met in accordance with care plans and physician orders

  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation

  • Coordinate and assist in planning and directing all nursing services

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory, regulations, and best practices

  • Oversee the accurate and timely completion of medical records and clinical documentation

  • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and orientation of nursing staff

  • Oversee daily staffing processes to ensure appropriate coverage

  • Support and monitor infection control practices and protocols

  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling to address operational and resident care needs

Qualifications

  • Current and active New York State RN license required

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Long-Term Care setting

  • At least 2 years of nursing management experience preferred

  • 1 year of staff education experience preferred

  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
