The Assistant Director is responsible for the operation of all Loving Care programs and enforcing all Loving Care policies in cooperation with or in the absence of the Director. He/she must have an understanding of all aspects of the program and must be able to fill-in in any capacity needed in order to ensure continuity of operations. The Assistant Director may be asked to assist with any of the responsibilities found in the Program Directors job description.

The most frequent duties of the Assistant Director include the following:

  • Supervise and administer all aspects of the program in cooperation with and in the absence of the Director.
  • Perform periodic visits to all sites to ensure compliance with program policies.
  • Troubleshoot student concerns, conferencing with parents and program staff to resolve issues as needed.
  • Assist Director in maintaining compliance with CCDF program rules and regulations at all sites.
  • Provide program information to potential new patrons and respond to inquiries from current patrons regarding account status, enrollment, and payment.
  • Maintain enrollment waitlists and collaborate with program Bookkeeper to fill openings as they occur.
  • Recruit, interview, check references, hire, and provide preliminary training for all new program staff.
  • Provide ongoing training and support for program staff with regard to all aspects of program operations.
  • Maintain employee work schedules, record employee absences, and contact substitutes as needed to meet required child-staff ratios.
  • Review employee timesheets for accuracy and submit to business office.
  • Maintain communication with program Bookkeeper and provide support regarding account issues and concerns.
  • Perform bookkeeping & data entry duties as required in absence of Bookkeeper.
  • Assist with managing supply inventories and purchasing for all program sites.
  • Monitor building and staff security at all program sites, including distribution of keys and access cards.
  • Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Skyward, Time Clock Plus, FMS, and Frontline as required to perform various job functions.
  • Attend and preside over team meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with Director to sustain and grow programs and services, communicating with appropriate personnel regarding any proposed programs prior to implementation.
