Description
The University of Mount Union seeks candidates for a full-time position of Assistant Director of Graduate Admission. A private institution founded in 1846, Mount Union offers a rigorous and relevant academic program that is grounded in the liberal arts tradition. Mount Union's 2,200 students can select from over 60 broad-based and career-specific undergraduate majors, as well as graduate programs in physician assistant studies, educational leadership, and physical therapy.
Under the supervision of the Director of Admission, the Assistant Director of Graduate Admission at the University of Mount Union is responsible for attaining recruitment goals for all Mount Union graduate programs. This individual participates fully in all recruitment activities that lead to the achievement of the University's enrollment goals. The Assistant Director supports and guides students through the college selection process, orienting them to the offerings of the University. The Assistant Director fosters enthusiasm among professionals and prospective students seeking admission into the University of Mount Union.
This position travels on a regular schedule around an assigned region, which will include overnight and out-of-state travel. He/she is responsible for establishing, building, and managing both new and mature relationships between the University and organization personnel related to our graduate program offerings, as well as with community and access groups.
The Assistant Director is energetic, creative, forward thinking, and goal-oriented, as well as detailed-oriented with a tolerance for ambiguity. The Assistant Director will have demonstrated strengths in the areas of planning, communication, and follow-through. He/she will demonstrate excellent judgment and understands that effectively representing the University is a constant priority.
Working in a highly confidential environment, the Assistant Director maintains a high standard of personal integrity, honesty, and character. He/she is dedicated to
advancing the University in a resource efficient manner and places significant priority on establishing and managing annual recruitment initiatives within stipulated budget guidelines.

The Assistant Director is expected to exercise judgment and to make decisions considered appropriate and necessary to provide the designated services, consulting with the Director of Admission on a regular basis.
The successful candidate must minimally possess a bachelor's degree, have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. Preference will be given to candidates with a master's degree, 2 years experiences within an admission office or any graduate admission experience, and experience working with diverse populations. Proven ability to develop a new recruitment territory is beneficial. A valid non-suspended driver's license is required, and the successful candidate must meet the criteria to drive a University vehicle.
This position is required to complete assigned University compliance training as communicated by the University.
