Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Engineering, Systems serves as the lead administrator and subject matter expert for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), overseeing preventive maintenance programs, system optimization, reporting, training, inventory management, and compliance initiatives to improve operational efficiency across the organization. The position also provides leadership in personnel management, budgeting, audits, strategic planning, and continuous process improvement while ensuring maintenance programs, inspections, and asset management activities are effectively executed and documented.

The Details:Position Type: Full-Time, Year-RoundPay: Starting salary is $90,000 annually Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert of the (Computerized Maintenance Management System) CMMS system. Provide leadership, coordination, and administration of the CMMS program for system best practices
  • Conduct interviews and hire designated division personnel and provide annual personnel reviews
  • Administer the Preventative Maintenance Program by utilizing an in-depth understanding of the maintenance program and associated tasks to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of equipment
  • Collect required technical information from various sources including project folders, construction drawings, OEM manuals, location and park-wide technicians to develop an effective Preventative Maintenance program
  • Assists with creating the departmental budget and overseeing expenditures and labor to meet budget requirements
  • Assists with compiling, evaluating, and disseminating all NPS-generated Formal Inspection Deficiencies (FIDS) as well as Sustainability & Risk Audits (SIDS, RIDS) for timely completion and documentation
  • Assist with the development of the Annual Construction & Maintenance Plan and Annual Construction & Maintenance Report
  • Oversee location inventory storerooms; research and develop ideas for storeroom organization and inventory control procedures
  • Coordinate the annual inventory audits and reconciliations with General Accounting Office and R&M Purchasing Agent
  • Work closely with CMMS Committee to determine best system processes, set priorities and timelines for configuration changes and reporting needs. Facilitate CMMS Team and Committee meetings
  • Participate in testing of new processes and changed configurations within the system
  • Provide regular reporting on the program to upper-level management
  • Provide CMMS work management end-user training to maintenance staff, park-wide technicians, crew leads, and Engineering staff to ensure continued growth of system usage. As well as Service Request (SR) training to non-engineering departments as requested
  • Conduct routine internal audits of program data; analyze system data and processes to identify trends and training opportunities to optimize process effectiveness
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by seeking out and attending workshops and trainings, reviewing professional publications, and establishing networks

AUTHORITIES

  • Supervises designated Parkwide Crew Personnel
  • Approves budget expenditures for facility and project activities
  • Promote Xanterra sustainability initiatives by preventing any negative impacts to the environment and incorporating best management practices
  • Must be familiar with all Xanterra-assigned properties and facilities
  • Stop and report bad behaviors, unsafe conditions, and work practices whenever observed
  • Stop work practices that have the potential to violate environmental laws and regulations whenever observed

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve facilities department objectives
  • Ability to plan, organize and administer culture conducive to continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups
  • Excellent communication skills to direct, supervise, motivate and communicate change in a positive manner
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships; maintain a professional attitude and appearance
  • Set schedules and meet deadlines
  • Prepare meeting agendas, compose a variety of documents, and facilitate group discussions
  • Proven proficiency with a CMMS program and all Microsoft products
  • Exceptional organizational habits
  • Excellent grammar and writing skills. Must be able to efficiently communicate and coordinate working relationships with all Xanterra departments and National Park Service personnel through effective writing and speaking skills
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a current, valid, driver's license with a good driving record for the past 3 years

Physical Requirements include:

  • Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and crawl for long periods of time as required
  • Works for the majority of time sitting at a desk using a computer
