SUBJECT: Assistant Director of Athletics

Qualifications:

  • MA administrative license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Five or more years of successful teaching and/or school administration experience.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong background in coaching or managing athletic teams or programs Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for assisting in the hiring and evaluation of coaches and staff
  • Responsible to assist the Director of Athletics with the coordination of all athletic events at the middle and high school levels.
  • Responsible for assigning game officials to all middle school games.
  • Work with transportation supervisor to schedule the busses needed for all middle school games.
  • At the start of the seasons issue equipment and uniforms to teams. Then collect all equipment, wash dry and put away all uniforms.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of all equipment and uniforms for both middle school and high school level.
  • Equitable division of ALL home football and basketball games and some weekend wrestling matches with the Director of Athletics.
  • For ALL home football and basketball games and some weekend wrestling matches, be responsible for delivering/collecting money boxes and tickets. After each athletic contest reconcile the tickets and money and then complete a deposit slip for the money to be deposited at the bank.
  • Attend and be visible on the sidelines or courts games which you are responsible for attending.
  • Ensure all locker rooms, press box and restrooms are locked when working games in the stadium.
  • Schedule to be sent to the Deputy Superintendent prior to the start of each season
  • Specific duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics Reports to the Director of Athletics and the Deputy Superintendent of Schools Compensation and Workday: Ratio of 1.30 - Flexible 11 month work year and 8 hour Work Day
