Campus Title Assistant Director of Athletics and Recreation Department Intercollegiate Athletics & Rec Position Summary

HIGHLIGHTS

SUNY Geneseo's Athletic Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Recreation. This role is a key member of the Athletics and Recreation Leadership team. As the Assistant Director, you will have oversight for planning, preparation, and execution of Geneseo athletics games, events, external rentals, and facilities. You will have additional oversight of all aspects of Athletic Facility scheduling and will provide administrative support for purchasing, budget record-keeping, Foundation expenses, and cash management.

Required Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3 - 5 years working in collegiate athletics with responsibilities for budget management, event management, and supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as the ability to establish and maintain positive learning environments for students and collaborative relationships with colleagues
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, college breaks, and some holidays

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in an NCAA Division III athletic department.
  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university

Percentage Of Time 25% Job Duty/ Responsibility

Function 1: Daily Scheduling

Oversight for daily schedule and usage of Geneseo athletic facilities, including game and rental contracts; Serve as department liaison to Facilities Department.

Percentage Of Time 25% Job Duty/ Responsibility

Function 2: Game & Event Planning

Oversight for the planning, preparation and execution of Geneseo athletic games, events, external rentals and facilities.

Percentage Of Time 20% Job Duty/ Responsibility

Function 3: Administrative Support

Provide administrative support for purchasing, budget record-keeping, Foundation expenses and cash management.

Function 4: Supervision

  • Supervise the hiring, training and scheduling of event staff and management of student payroll for game day operations.
  • Provide direct oversight for internal operations staff as well as assigned head coaches.

Serve as the game administrator for select sports.
