The Athletics department encourages applications for the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications! This role will develop and implement communication strategies within the Athletic Communications office for the University of Colorado Boulder Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Working with the women's basketball program as the primary communications contact and serving as the primary contact for additional sport assignments, to ensure all communications strategies and execution fit within the broader context of the department, University, conference, and NCAA goals and compliance requirements. This position is responsible for creating media guides, game notes, news releases, maintaining statistics and records, staffing practices and serving as the liaison between the media and the sport program. This position will also work closely with coaches and student-athletes to cultivate original content, including feature stories, that can be used on CU Athletics channels as well as pitched to the media, increasing coverage of the program and its student-athletes.
This position is also responsible for the CU Athletics Communications department's student assistant program, including recruitment, hiring prospective student workers, scheduling them for events throughout the academic year, and overseeing their work progress to ensure they are fulfilling the duties needed by the department. Have a lead role within assigned sports in the areas of content planning and execution, media relations, gameday management, publications, and archiving.
The position is responsible for conducting all activities in compliance with conference, NCAA and University rules and regulations and is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This includes adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department's Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big 12 Conference, and the NCAA.
